[Text available only in English] Metainferno is a Live Cinema performance—an authentic audio-visual concert based on the projection of the very first film ever made about Dante Alighieri’s Inferno, shot in Velletri in 1911 using a camera gifted by the Lumière brothers.
The silent film L’Inferno is brought to life with a live soundtrack and remixed in real time using content generated by Artificial Intelligence.
Metainferno invites reflection on the nature of the digital world and its power over society and culture. The performance presents a vision of a contemporary inferno—a place where technology holds the power to manipulate and control society. It evokes a virtual war, where battles are fought through data and knowledge is weaponized.
Just like wars led by political leaders, the digital war is waged by tech giants and governments striving to control and manipulate the flow of information and influence. Metainferno calls on us to reflect on the responsibility we bear in using new media with awareness and integrity. It serves as a reminder that technology, like any other force, carries power—and that power must be used wisely and judiciously.
