Audiovisual narratives and sound journeys that bring to life the places built and abandoned by humans, containers now empty and destined to grow, sleeping giants at the gates of cities.
A visualisation of what our world could be in a few decades, amid future climate scenarios, wars and the decline of industries. A multitude of theatres, places of worship and entire cities (those that will still exist) with no humans left.
We are beginning to realise that we are responsible for a systemic disconnect that has disrupted the delicate co-evolutionary relationship between humans and the environment. The earth is no longer perceived as a place to inhabit but as an object of consumption, transient, will we be able to do without cities?

Some ghost cities portend the end of the Anthropocene, this project wants to fix the sounds of these ghost places, not as an archive, but as a historical continuity.
What sounds have and will these places with no humans left have?
We imagine medieval monuments reviving with voices and sounds of our century. Or abandoned villages filled with the sound illusions of a contemporary electronic orchestra.
The research team recorded sound sources in abandoned villages in southern Italy.
The sound performance consists of reproducing the sounds of the places live, using them as sound design and sampling for the creation of new sound textures, through real-time manipulations. The sound sources of the empty and desolate places are transformed into musical elements during the performance, in which we will see three musicians build stories and dialogues with the places, in a flow that immerses the contemporary audience in an ancient world of the future, a real virtual sound and visual journey that narrates historical moments of our civilisation.
