[Text available only in English] Atomic Laundry, founded in 2024 by Aleksandr Konovaltcev and Pasha Fakhrutdinov, is a duo of multidisciplinary musicians, each with their own cultural background. They met to create music that is not bound to genre but rather to vibe and feelings.
Born in the deepest parts of Siberia, having spent his youth under the northern lights of Finland, and now living in sunny Yerevan, Pavel draws inspiration from extreme hip-hop. He tries to alter the classical approach to production, embracing unexpected live happy accidents.
A native of Saratov, an ex-post-rock/post-punk musician, and a Moscow Music School songwriter, Aleksandr blends rhythms with melodic depth, bringing classical rock songwriting techniques into electronic music production.
Raw analog sound has been at the core of Atomic Laundry since day one. Combining mechanized breakbeats, sampled live drum breaks, and live-composed synths, they cast a sense of melancholy and slight nostalgia ultra. Throughout their sets, the duo strives to immerse listeners in a journey of live trials and errors, establishing an intimate connection with the audience and bringing them closer to the process of creation.
Visual artist Andrey Rylov supports the project's live sets with neural network-generated videos. He uses images of non-existent analog devices morphing into each other, with glitchy effects layered on top. This highlights the breadth of the project's musical experimentation.
