The starting point is the invention or the very model copy of close ups or details of human skeletons, performed with mixed techniques (Indian ink, pen, acrylic ink, pencils), sometimes overlapped with medical x-rays.

The original image is then scanned and graphically worked out with the aid of 2D software, and brought to a higher level of abstraction, without any aesthetic worthiness. Bone splinters are enriched with signs and graphics, bright contrasts, intense chromatic stains - expression of aggressivness and vivacity.

The choice of an anatomical subject must not be deceiving: this is not a work about “the body” in all its various issues, but a constant research on the different ways the image can be transformed by the artistic élan.

The visions of skeletons and x-rays captivated me since i was a kid. And when, in high school, I faced them as models for my Drawing classes, I begun to work on this process of reinvention of muscolar and skeletal framework.

The inquiry involves the relationship between reality and manipolation of reality, fathoming the conceivable passages and interactions between these two levels. And, at the same time, the employ of traditional art techniques sided by technological languages and instruments, encouraging the reflection on the eternal link between technique and experience, reality and media, and on to the constitution of a personal, idiosyncratic imaginary and so questioning myself about my very essence and contrasts.
